Hot or Not?: True Blood’s Rolling Stone Cover

Earlier this week, everyone was creaming their pants over Rolling Stone‘s upcoming True Blood cover. This didn’t come as much of a surprise, considering that the shot features Anna Paquin sandwiched between two very naked male costars. But are Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard‘s naked torsos enough to negate the fake blood ickiness?

Believe it or not, my answer is “no”. Those two could have been engaged in the sixty-nine position without Paquin, and it’d still elicit the same response in my pants. I can handle a little fake blood on someone’s lips, but this takes things to an extremely unsexy level. Of course, that’s just my opinion. Did you pop a boner over this cover?

  1. I don’t find it attractive in the least. Sure, there are those that get off on this, but I am not one of them. I think having them exposing their fangs going in for her neck at the same time, without the blood would have been far sexier.

  2. I find the cover shot to be extremely sexy. I am not offended nor turned off by the blood. But, aesthetically, I wonder where it all came from. But, the pic is damn sexy, nonetheless!!

  3. Yeah… ick. I think the whole thing is styled poorly. The blood– WAY too much. They could have gone with a couple drops or something, or like DAK said, had the fangs going in for a bite… that would have been much hotter. But this is just gross.

  4. People, it’s FAKE blood and they are covered with the shit in the show and we still pop a boner when we see them. I think the issue is with this cover, we have time to linger and stare. When its in the show, the edits and cuts and camera angles distract us. Again, it’s fake and the blood is a major aspect of the show, just in case any of you have forgotten that.

  5. If you actually watched and appreciated the aesthetics of the show, then you would appreciate this magazine cover. I think it is beautifully done. The actors are all gorgeous and sexy. The blood spilled on them is a representation of everything that their characters find sexy, and as viewers of the show, we should recognize and appreciate that as well. I wish that the cover was a little bit darker.

  6. In addition, the world does not revolve around what gets your dick hard. It can simply be about beauty and visual appeal.

  7. Hello, this is a vampire show. Yes, blood is involved. And yes this pic is sexier than all heck. Yes, I would like not to see Anna in it, but at least it gives a space to imagine ourselves in her place. hehehe

  8. As a horror fan I am not disgusted by blood like you queens hahaha.:p

This is one of the hottest magazine covers I have ever seen. I would like an alternate version with “Alcide” in the middles instead.

  9. I think the picture is sexy as Hell, as well as technically beautiful. The blood is what makes it sexy in my opinion.

  10. Adam, what do you mean, the world doesn’t revolve around what makes my dick hard? When did that happen??? 😉

  11. Haha I find it funny how many people are ranting about it. It’s a sexy shot. If you watch the show, even the sex scenes can get like that and it’s still hot.

  12. I like it but would have liked a cast picture better. Like where the hell is Jason, Tara and Lafayette and Sam?!!

  13. Dewitt I am with U ( on this one ) The pixs could have been so much more sexier without all the fake blood . If they wanted 2 show blood than why not have the back drop done N the fake blood ……………..

  14. hmm..
..a magazine cover that is themed after a cable-television show which is known for its blood and other goriness.

yeah — there’s no reason for the cover to look the way it does.

    (*rolls eyes*)

i don’t believe it was designed for most people to wank off on, so “sexy” or “hot” isn’t, technically, really relevant here.

i wasn’t bothered in the least about the image, besides.. ..on the other hand: while i do like, understand, and appreciate the visual aspect, none of the three people in it happened to float my boat, anyway.

    so•there you go.

  15. Ho, the first cover turned me on – with Anna Paquin (and vagina grosses me out).

I figure if I’m going to be horrificly naughty, I might as well go all the way.

  16. And your photoshop job is irking me. It’s off-centre, and that drives my OCD completely insane.

Same reason I don’t like guys with crooked cocks. ._.

  17. Oh, I must have missed when rolling stone became a pornographic magazine. This is a shot revealing what is in the show. I think its well done and if you have seen the show you know that there is tons of gore in the show. I really don’t get the hype.

  18. yummuls I love it, maybe it’s cause I was a vampire like three years in a row as a kid, but I fucking love it and any excuse to get those folks naked and I’m game!

  19. Lol. It’s fake blood. People are so weird.

I think it’s really hot. I’ve never found Stephen Moyer to be very hot but he looks great here. This could only be hotter if Alcide were involved.

  20. I would have preferred seeing just Alexander Skarsgard without all the bloody paint. It looked more like someone had squirted a restaurant ketchup bottle all over them. And as much as I enjoy seeing the male torso to beautifully sculptured, I think the photo would have been much sexier with a few accessories, as well as a darker mood. Maybe have the background or titles in blood red so that the actors’ bodies would have “popped” more. I’d like to see Ryan Kwanten or the actor that plays Sam Merlotte’s little shape-shifting dog-bro on a cover in nothing but a pair of jeans unzipped right down to the pubes & soaking wet with sweat.

  21. I love the second pic, hot as hell. may be this is a possible behind scene too lol , if Im a vampire i would bite on Alex without any doubt lol 😉

  22. Well it is hot seeing them naked like that but since Rolling Stone isn’t porn, it doesn’t need to be hot. Rolling Stone is about getting attention and this cover certainly will do that. Imagine this shot for “TRUE BLOOD” without any blood. It would have just been three sexy naked people (which would be nice too). I do like your revised versions much better however!

  23. Jeeze it’s fake blood it’s hot but Anna ruins it and when she’s photoshoped the guy with black hair looks feminine and not hot

  24. how is this hot? the “blood” looks tacky, possibly could have been better if it looks like they had been biting each other instead of being covered in arterial spray. i wonder if there were better photos to choose from and they settled on this.
