The first legal gay wedding in Oregon has already occurred, despite the fact that the state hasn't approved any measure for marriage equality. Yes, you read that right.
Kitzen and Jeni Branting are now wives thanks to a law passed by the Coquille Tribe. In 2008, their tribe's lawmakers voted to extend the tribal benefits of marriage to same-sex couples. Since the tribe is a federally recognized sovereign nation, it is not bound by the Oregon Constitution.
Hopefully, as time passes, all Oregon residents will have the same freedom to marry.

lol workaround.
it would be fun if this somehow set legal precedence in Oregon for further same sex marriages, and then additionally had that precedence used in other states
