T.R Knight from Grey’s Anatomy has become the latest star to donate big bucks (50K) to fight Proposition 8. He joins the all-star cast of ‘No on Prop. 8’, so far including Brad Pitt (100K), Steven Spielberg (100K), Pete Wentz, and Chelsea Handler (5K).
This also makes him the first notable out entertainer who has donated, with big names like Ellen DeGeneres and George Takai (whose marriages could actually be threatened) speaking out, but holding on to their coffers tightly.
With the latest poll showing support for the ban growing, the urgency is greater than ever. The proponents of the ban have had powerful commercials, and have outraised the opponents, making their non-donations even harder to understand. According to the poll, young voters are being swayed against gay marriage by the Yes on 8 campaigns, and the election is less than 4 week away!
Congratulations to T.R Knight, and to other gay celebrities, wake up, if we can’t get Gay Marriage through a popular vote in California, there is little hope for the rest of the country!
