RuPaul’s Drag Race: The Diva Awards

Diva-collage

We almost couldn't handle a whole week without RuPaul's Drag Race, so we were glad to see the show return last night. It was an extravagant event, as the four remaining queens created three original looks for The Diva Awards. Who better to judge them than some actual award-winning divas? Naturally, Broadway star Marissa Jaret Winokur and actress Tatum O'Neal stepped in as guest judges, and helped determine which girls would make it to the final three.

Of course, one of the ladies ultimately was ousted after not being able to deliver true "red carpet realness". Click through to watch the full episode, view our rankings and find out who got sent home!

AND NUMBER ONE THIS WEEK…

Diva-tyra

1. TYRA SANCHEZ (LW – 2): Before you flip out, please take note that these were "The Diva Awards". Emphasis on diva. Does any girl epitomize this concept more than Miss Tyra? Her three runway looks could legitimately have been spotted on the red carpet. Unfortunately, there was a complete lack of "red carpet realness", because every single moment of Tyra's delivery seemed fake and manufactured. I guess that's what happens when you channel Beyonce? Yeah, I went there.

Diva-juju

2. JUJUBEE (LW – 3): Bottom two again? While we get where the judges are coming from, it still doesn't make us happy. Our girl fucked up on the group lipsynch and couldn't deliver on her Hollywood look, but she made up for it with a touching acceptance speech and all-around stage presence. Our prediction is third place for Jujubee in the finale. However, she'll always hold a place in our hearts as America's next drag superstar.

Diva-raven

3. RAVEN (LW – 1): Though we're placing bets on Raven to win the competition, we weren't really blown away by her in this episode. Her outspoken nature can come off as bitchy, but it's all coming from an honest place. Next to Tyra's saccharin sweetheart act, Raven is the lesser of two evils.

Diva-tati

GONE… TATIANNA (LW – 4): Was that not the most awkward exit in the history of this show? With all the focus on Tatianna's impending demise, I almost got worried that they'd keep her around just for the drama. We legitimately hope that she'll mature into a well-rounded drag queen, because right now she's still stuck at the kids' table playing "princess". And looking extremely pretty while sitting there. Thank you, Tatianna, for all the great moments. No, really, thank you. But I'm not even kidding… thank you.

  1. You know what the way you judge Tatianna really makes me sick. You are an asshole and you dont even know her. Are you just jealous bcuz you cant be as pretty and as natural as she is. Just makes me sick.

  2. Good riddance, Tati. My question is who is Tyra’s daddy? Could it be one Dirty Sanchez? Love to my girl Jujubee!

  3. Raven has got to go. Her back ally personality is starting to make my teath ach. Go back to the Hookers you studied for so long……………..

  4. Raven is the lesser of two evils, lol?!
Jujubee and Raven have the exact same opinion about everything yet Jujubee comes off looking like a sweetheart you know why? Because she has manners and doesn’t have attitude.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Raven ends up being the most hated RuPaul contestant ever, compared to Tyra she’s a cut throat bitch and I’m glad she doesn’t win.
I wasn’t too happy Tyra was going to win but not anymore, especially after Jujubee was in the bottom two three times. Love me some Juju, but she’s just as inconsistent as Tatianna but in the end a little more ‘polished’.

  5. LOL!
Totally just got the thank you shit. Was Tatianna waiting for ‘sashay away’? I’m assuming when RuPaul said ‘thank you’ he didn’t really want to tell her to sashay away?

  6. Tatiana is a stunningly beautiful natural star. She has a little growing up to do, but she is totally oozing with superstar potential.
Poor jujubee makes a mess on the runway every week. She is unfortunately a whole lot of unrealized potential.
Tyra and Raven are just mean ugly bitches. I wouldn’t ever pay to see their bitter bad attitudes perform anywhere.

  7. Tati should have gone. She’s so naturally beautiful, but not as talented as the other girls. If I had to guess, I would say that Tyra goes first next week, and the it’s down to Juju and Raven. I bet it’s going to be Raven. Raven’s a bitch, but she is the most technically proficient, not to mention that she knows how to play the game. As much as I hated Juju earlier, she could pull it out and win if she tightens up her performances.

  8. I think Tatinna for the experiance she had she made it very far. Rupaul didnt want to say sashay away to Tatinna. Im just proud of her and quite frankly Tatianna didnt have to win to be where she is now. Having tv shows offers and what not. Proud of her

  9. People, I say this week after week. Tyra was the chosen winner from week 1. There is no mystery here. The sad part is he has zero personality. That makes for a dreary drag queen.

  10. Just have to say…how is Tyra getting all this praise when she’s been doing nothing but channeling Beyonce from day one? I think RuPaul must see his younger self in her or something.
Raven has got to go. She is one of the nastiest people I’ve seen. Fake, fake, fake, and makes an ugly woman. Now that Tatiana finally went home, who is Raven going to bitch about next?
My favorite is Juju, but from the way the judges have been going gaga over Tyra and Raven, I fear Juju is going home next week.

  11. I thought Ru was gonna smack tatinna just to get the girl off the stage. the eyes on ru were enough to melt metel. Juju keep on working it girl

  12. My favorite part of this Episode was the DIVA Awards song and performance i wonder where i can get it

  13. She’s a catty bitch but Raven is truly a female illusion and quite a transformation. I say Raven takes #1 and Tyra as runner up. Love JuJu but she belongs in third place.

  14. Ugh, I know we’re preparing for a Tyra win, but come on, isn’t part of the win emceeing duties on the Absolut Tour? Or was that just last season? Or is it just a regular performance in the tour? At any rate, my guess is that such a tour isn’t free…can you imagine having to pay money to see Tyra? Thanks, but I have better things to spend my money on, if I want to see a person wear a dress well I’ll buy a copy of vogue, otherwise, do SOMETHING entertaining already!

  15. This season drives me crazy. Not only is Tyra’s voice deeper than mine, her makeup is always a wreck, and she’s got a crap personality. I’m hoping that a real performance will be a part of the challenge next week, and Juju’s personality gets her to the top two. If she goes before Tyra, it’ll be a joke.

  16. Raven is such a dick I can’t stand her. Seems the only thing she ever talked about the entire time was how much she hated Tati. If you have to talk shit about someone that damn much you have major insecurities, that’s not an opinion it’s a fact.
