Meet The Latest ANTM Contestants

After watching Obama pretty much rock the presidential address on the healthcare reform, I turned to my DVR for some lighter material. You can probably guess that this involved a little Glee, but it also incorporated a little bit of America's Next Top Model. I think I'm really feeling this season! Er… I mean "cycle".

Since this round is all about girls too short for standard models, I feel like a lot of the girls seem grateful for the opportunity. It also heightens the drama, because–let's be honest–this could be their last chance to work the runway.

It's also nice to see that Tyra's ditched all the pseudo socially-conscious bullshit. Instead of the girls' first photo shoot being "controversial" like previous seasons, they posed in high fashion updates of their baby pictures. Adorable! I know it's too early to ask, but who are you rooting for?

ASHLEY: Remember Saleisha, the winner from the ninth cycle? She had attended Tyra Banks' camp at some point, so I always thought her victory seemed suspect. If Ashley wins, I'm going to really be suspicious, because Tyra discovered her in the audience of her talk show. Though her personality has yet to be revealed, the pose in her first picture ain't half-bad!

BIANCA: Meet this cycle's token bitch. She's basically an uglier, slightly masculine version of Nnenna from Cycle 6. A great moment occurred during judging, as a result of Bianca bitching on set about her make-up and outfit. I'm paraphrasing, but Tyra was like, "You can come on set and say [angrily] 'I don't like my make-up'. Or… you can say [fiercely] 'I don't like my make-up'." It was like smiling with your eyes all over again!

BRITTANY: Has anyone seen the movie Teeth? Because this chick really reminds me of the lead actress Jess Weixler. As an overstudying math major, she's the token nerd of the cycle. I am oddly drawn to her, but I guess I have a thing for total geek-wads.

ERIN: I don't remember a single thing about this girl, so my feelings lean towards the ambivalent side. Even though this reminds me of Celia from the preceding cycle, this is really a great photo. Unfortunately, I think that has a lot more to do with the styling than Erin's contributions. Loving the bleached eyebrows! ::rolls eyes at Bianca::

COURTNEY: She came to auditions on crutches, so you know Tyra gave her brownie points for that alone. I don't see her going very far in the competition, despite taking a decent first photo. If anything, she'll get eliminated towards the middle.

JENNIFER: I know this is going to sound like the racist "they all look the same" kind of mentality, but doesn't this chick have the exact same bone structure as Gina from Cycle 6? Apparently Tyra only likes Asian girls with square jaws. Luckily, this photo shows a lot more potential than Gina's work!

KARA: I don't care if she's castrated sheep. I don't think this girl is pretty and her "upper middle class" story doesn't appeal to me. Yeah, I said it.

LAURA: Real women castrate bulls. I am so taken by Laura's naive country-girl charm. Her grandmother made all her clothes, yet she wants to be a fashion model! It's a lovely tale, and I'm hoping she at least makes it to the top three.

LISA: Get a quick look at Lisa, because you won't be seeing her anymore. After being brought back into the competition as a wild-card (more on that later), she lost her place with this busted-ass, angry clown photo.

LULU: Here's one of those girls who I thought looked better before her makeover. Given that she's the show's token lesbian, Tyra decided to take the dyke factor down a notch with a brand new weave. She still looks good, and I'm definitely still rooting for her!

NICOLE: I'm obsessed with Nicole. Just like Allison from the last cycle, she's the type of girl who doesn't need to do anything to look fantastic in a photo. By simply having such sad features and fair skin, she immediately looks high fashion. This photo is fantastic, and I could imagine seeing it in a magazine as soon as tomorrow. Shorty or not, get this chick a contract!

RACHEL: Speaking of Allison, this chick has some huge-ass eyes! She apparently went by the nickname of "Bambi Eyes" back in the day. I've yet to make a decision about her.

RAE: This was the judge's favorite photo. As much as I respect her for rocking those eight inch heels, I'm not sure if I'd agree with them. Even so, it was much better than what I was expecting from her!

SUNDAI: Because of her outstanding personality and outlook on life, I had high hopes for Ms. Sundai. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll be one of those girls who improves as the competition goes along.

AMBER: Here's the token Jesus freak. She made it to the top fourteen but had to leave because of "personal reasons". I really love her catwalk. Mee-ow!
