How Did Cheyenne Do On 30 Rock?

The Problem Solvers, Cheyenne Jackson, Danny Baker, Jack, robot, cast member, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Kenneth the Page, comedy, funny people, gorgeous, naked, openly gay

Let's be real. This post is mostly an excuse to link to that alleged naked picture of Cheyenne Jackson, but can we at least pretend to talk about his performance on 30 Rock? When I heard that the beloved Broadway actor would be joining the cast, I got extremely excited in my pants (and my heart).

With his debut behind us, I'm feeling a little underwhelmed. Cheyenne's great on stage, but I'm having doubts about his ability to keep up with the hilarity of castmates like Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBrayer. Hell, I'm worried that he won't be able to keep up with the guy who plays Lutz.

A part of me wonders if Mr. Jackson is too pretty for this type of comedy. I'm not saying that all funny people are ugly, but a majority of the best comedians aren't the sorts who'd appear in a random tabloid's "sexiest people" issue. And even if they are, it's because the magazine pulls out some bullshit "funny is sexy" angle.

Then again, I'm basing this all off of a first impression. To put things in perspective, Cheyenne's character Danny provided an awesome springboard for Jenna and Tracy's antics. It'll also be great to see more of his interactions with Kenneth the Page. Oh, and there's also the part where he's an openly gay man in a mainstream role, playing a character who isn't necessarily gay (or at the very least, isn't defined by it). I guess I'll give him a few more episodes to win me over?
