Galecki On Gay Rumors: “Why Defend Yourself Against Something That’s Not Offensive?”

Hollywood actors–whether closeted by choice or just plain straight–should take a cue from Johnny Galecki when it comes to gay rumors. The star of The Big Bang Theory recently appeared on The View, and had this to say about people who question his sexuality: "Why defend yourself against something that's not offensive?"

Amen to that! Though Johnny came out ahead when we pitted him against his Big Bang costar Jim Parsons, we're wondering if his lead would be increased after this statement. On more important topics–have you seen that picture of his penis?

  1. Love Love Love Love him and the show!!!! Still think he’s gay though…well I’m hoping anyway

  2. I like him on Roseanne and even more on Big Bang Theory…Galecki’s a talented young man whether he’s gay or straight…I judge actors on their talent and the roles they play not who they’re fucking.

  3. Give the guy credit for his work onscreen and leave his personal life alone like any of the news people ever leave an actor alone…….DADDDHHHH!!! IT’S SAD

  4. I love Big Bang Theory (although I voted for Jim Parsons in the poll). This is a FABULOUS response to this question–the kind of answer that dispels the question. If you’re cool enough to answer the question this way, you’re probably cool enough to come out.
Reminds me of an interview with Matt Damon in The Advocate about rumors that he and Ben Affleck were a gay couple. He commented that there was no answer that worked. To get defensive about the rumor was to offend his many gay friends, but to deflect the rumor was also to fail to grapple with the intense and deep affection he had for Ben as a friend and colleague.
Would that all boys (gay boys especially) were so socially and personally reflective.

  5. The picture is from the off-B-way play “The Little Dog Laughed”. The guy with his back turned is another hottie Tom Everett Scott.

  6. The picture is from a play entitled “The Little Dog Laughed.” Johnny played a hustler who falls in love with a closeted movie star.

  7. No way is Galecki gay. I’ve gotten drunk enough with him that something would have happened for sure by now, even if he is way too short for me. He’s totally into women. Really nice guy.
