What do American Idol's Sanjaya Malakar, The Hills' Heidi Montag and (maybe) former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich have in common? They'll all be contestants on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, a new NBC series based on a British show with the same name. The 15 contestants will go on vacation to Costa Rica and have producers use a bunch of tricks to make us believe that their lives are really difficult and unpleasant.
The show will also include contestants such as Dog the Bounty Hunter, Geraldo Rivera, Spencer Pratt and Janice Dickinson. Given how loosely they use the term "celebrity", I'll soon be signing up for the second season. Do you think I'll be able to match such stiff competition as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's younger sister and Wendy the Snapple Lady?
UPDATE: The judge has ruled that it'd be a "bad idea" for Blagojevich to appear on the show.
