Judy Shepard, the mother of Matthew Shepard, has made a video to encourage folks to tell Congress to act against hate crimes. She lost her son over ten years ago to an anti-gay hate crime, and since then tens of thousands of Americans have been victims of hate crimes.
Join her in proving that "love conquers hate", and let's put a stop to all this violence.

However, I do not have much belief in the highest powers of the U.S.
I have a brother who is profoundly “anti-everyhing” though I don’t think he would take another life. I do believe that certain people are seriously damaged enough to commit such acts.

The US government is, after all, supposed to be a government “of the people, by the people, for the people.” In this new, progressive administration, let’s hope we can get this act updated and passed. It’s time to show these ignorant, narrow-minded, hateful people that what they do is WRONG! And Des, you are right, there ARE people who WILL go that far because to this point they have not been prosecuted for their hateful deeds.
