Things The World Doesn’t Need

Sister Act
Look, I love singing nuns as much as the next guy, but what the hell are these rumors about Beyonce Knowles starring in a film adaptation of the Sister Act musical? If your jaw isn't already on the floor, get this–apparently Meryl Streep could be playing the part of Mother Superior.
Can someone please stop encouraging Beyonce to make movies? She will never live up to the awesomeness of Whoopi Goldberg. Seriously! Her acting career should have ended at Carmen: A Hip-Hopera. Meryl Streep better know better to see this project and run far away.

  1. So true! I absolutely loved the original movies and I dont want Knowles ruining it for me.

  2. I try and keep up with Broadway shows on a regular basis, and this is the first I’ve heard that there’s a B’way adaptation of the movie. Com’on, the movie was basically a musical anyway!
Beyonce is all wrong for the role, and as much as I love Meryl Streep, I don’t think she has the chops for something like this. After all, I have seen the “Mama Mia” movie.

  3. OMG! People keep up!
Sister Act is now a Broadway play. It is showing in London, and is planning on making its way to NY later this year.
What he is saying is that they are turning the B’way version of Sister Act into a movie.
It will not be like the original song-wise as the Motown catalog was unavailable when production. Totally new songs, and everything.
Why do people keep commenting on something they know nothing about, Lol!
And yes, as it stands they are just rumors, which I doubt will come to fuition.
    Beyonce as Sister Mary Clarence…Hahahahahahaha…NO!

  4. I love Beyonce (I really do) but I think her team needs to advise her to be a bit more strategic in the roles (if any) she takes and/or next business ventures. She’s just out there way too much!
Sister Act? I think that it shouldn’t be remade at all… It was/is great as it stands!
