Must Read: I’m Dreaming of A Black Christmas

In his new book, I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas, comedian Lewis Black recounts a typical Christmas Day, remembers holidays past and comments on the utter chaos that is the holiday season, as only Black can. His adventures as a Jew on Christmas Day in NYC are hilarious and his tangent rants will make you laugh out loud.

On the politically correct way to greet someone this time of year, Lewis writes, “It makes no difference to life on this planet or the indifferent universe we find ourselves stumbling through if you spout ‘Merry Christmas’ rather than ‘Happy Holidays.’ You can say ‘Happy Horseshit’ if you want to, if you’re not within earshot of children or adult crybabies.”

A fun book to put the hype of the holidays in perspective. Buy this for the sarcastic fuck on your Christmas List.

  1. Hey came to our campus a couple of years ago for homecoming. Love Lewis Black. Though at times he is a bit much to handle.

  2. I’m just glad to hear him say that the political correctness is overdone. I have had more of my non-christian friends tell me that they don’t understand why it’s such a big deal for someone to say Merry Christmas too. I have jewish friends, athiest friends… friends from all backgrounds. With the intent to not offend anyone, the Christians have been offended. But no one seems to care about that. Go Louis Black and Merry Christmas!!!

  3. this is christian country, i guess.
(so much for considering other peoples’ cultures.)

    in that case, Happy Kwanzaa!

    Happy Hanukkah!

i don’t think it’s the “merry christmas” itself which ticks some non-observers off (The Spirit & The Sentiment is perfectly noble), as it is, the presumption that is being made, about what that so-greeted_person believes in.

(which is yet another reason that i distance myself from “organized” religion.
because everybody can’t be right about what’s really Canon.
    can they?)
