Miss California Lives in the Land of Opposite Marriage

There's an idiot-storm gathering. Her hair is blonde and her tan is fake. And I am afraid. Some who advocate for "opposite marriage" have taken the issue far beyond absolute stupidity. They want to bring their ignorance into my television! Speaking of which, have you seen the video of Miss California responding to Perez Hilton's gay marriage question?

The self-proclaimed queen of all media asked her the following: "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit, why or why not?"  Now any logical human being would stop to consider that one of the gayest gays in gay history just asked them that question. You're trying to become Miss USA here, not audition for a NOM commercial. But no… this is the response we got.

"Well, I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or another," said Miss California. "Um, we live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what? In my country and in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think that it should be—between a man and a woman. Thank you!"

I feel like I'm on Punk'd or something, because this is so far from believable. In my country, "I think that I believe" that this chick shouldn't be allowed to enter pageants. And need I remind you that she's speaking on behalf of the state that passed Proposition 8? Good thing she didn't win!

  1. why do we want marriage so bad anyway? it sucks and frankly i believe marriage is a JOKE in ANY FORMAT. IDK about you, but to me its meaningless and stupid. the only reason i *MIGHT* want to get married would be for the tax/financial benefits. I am a gay man, and i dont give a flying fuck about marriage and i would not want to even if i had the option. look at the divorce rate and all the failed hetero marriages…do we really want to be part of that?
I believe that before we as a society make any more decisions about marriage, that we should first make divorce illegal for hetero people. then maybe everybody will take marriage as seriously as they all say its supposed to be taken, but never actually treat it as such. and i will be sitting on my big white gay ass, laughing hysterically at my TV when i see all the pissed, stuck, married str8 couples murdering eachother because they cant get divorced.
Then we will be alot closer to taking over the world, as has been our original plan for 1000s of years now.
    mwah ha ha ha ha.

  2. Do you honestly believe that dumb broad should be banned from pageants because holds a contrary point of view from yours? And, why are you watching such insiped programs, I that you lefties thought judging people was unfair and mean???

  3. The bigger travesty is the thought that Perez Hilton just became the most visible spokesperson for the gay community through this incident. Progress towards equality gets set back five years every time this mean-spirited queen opens his mouth and attempts to speak ‘on our behalf.’ This is a guy whose self loathing always leads to the harshest judgement of others – and you’ve got to love the ultimate ‘divider’ talking about the need for Miss USA to be a ‘uniter.’ ROFL

  4. I for one could care less about Gay Marriage, or stright Marriage, we all should have the tax breaks, but who need the state or the church to tell me that my love for another person is valid…Gay folks need to give it a rest and not try to be so stright and embrace the FREEDOM OF BEING SEXUAL AND GAY!!

  5. So many good points here. I agree with CathodeRayTube that divorce for hets should either be illegal or at least miserable to get. I agree with Ass Clown about watching a stupid beauty pageant and I agree with sfdann about Perez Hilton being a mouthpiece for the gay community although we are all entitled to our opinions.

  6. btw, MS. HILTION should be SHOOT!!! Why must we see his UGLY FUCKING FACE here on manhunt! I see his face enough every time I flush my shit down the toilet!!

  7. Dave: Totally in agreement with you!! Live and let live equally…Tax breaks across the board, and the fair treatment of others. (ok, that last part was parenthesized from the Sailor’s Creed…lol)

  8. Having fewer rights than another citizen for any reason is abominable; marriage just happens to be one of those things that we can’t do because we’re not American enough. I’m sure that more people would be upset if it was the ability to secure a loan, obtain housing, maintain employment, or get a drink without fear of discrimination against which they have no legal recourse.
    …Oh, wait.
The freedom to marry whomever we choose does more than give us tax benefits, the ability to be with our spouses when they need us most, and protection for the lives (and children) we may choose to share. It legitimizes our lifestyle in a way that nothing else can. It should serve as the foundation for further efforts to secure our lives against hate and discrimination, not the other way around.

  9. Can someone please smack this Ahole Hilton. He should not have been allowed to ask the question. He’s an insult to the rest of us. I can’t wait for some celeb to just haul off and bust his jaw.

  10. Hey Brian, you are right laws should “protect”, but “laws” should be the right of ALL AMERICANS! Not just married Americans “gay or stright”. Not everyone wants to get married, but being discriminated against and having no legal recourse, effects all gays.. married or not. Thats why we should be putting our joint energies into changing those laws first, in doing so 99% of Americans would be behind us!
Marriage will not “ligitimizes” our lifestyle with most stright people no matter if we have “gay marriage” or not, but changing laws that discriminted is the key.

  11. she was trying to win “miss usa”. as much as she is entitled to have her own opinion, anyone with an inkling of intelligence would have gathered that the whole thing was most probably RUN by homos. geez. silly bitch. its “miss usa.”

  12. I am with ASS_CLOWN( wait… Drew?) on this one. She has the right to her own fucking opinion, she is not a politician so she doesn’t have to be any more understanding or openminded than she wants to.
I certainly disagree with her, and it was clearly not a strategically wise comment, nor well spoken, but I applaud her for being honest. That is really hard in a pop culture that tends to be so liberal.

  13. here we go again- listen to all the illiterati trying to express intelligent opinions. Dave and Tim- “stright”?? is that the opposite of “strong”?And cathodeRayTiube- check out the blurb by Brian for the reason why EVERYONE should be able to marry. Those of you gays out there who could care less about marriage because you think it is a broken institution, I agreed with you at first, when Massachusetts was suing for the right- let’s just make everyone have to get “legally joined” by a JP or such, and leave “marriage” to the churches. Then, any church who will not marry folks that the law says may be legally joined, their marriages will not be legally binding. the problem here is that a whole new set of laws would have to be written to ensure that everyone got the same rights, so it makes sense to just adopt marriage, and show that gays aren’t impressed with the folk who can’t seem to hold it together. There is currently no other way to get the exact same rights for gays as for straights in those states that do not recognize our right to marry, without going through a lot of legal nonsense. If you stop and look at the couples who married in Massachusetts when it was first legal, you find that most of them had been together for at least 15 years already, and many as much as 30 or 40- so what does that say as far as the divorce rate’s likelihood to change overall if gays are allowed to marry everywhere? Seems to bode well. And please folks, pay attention to what you type so you don’t make it seem like a large portion of gay society is made up of ignoramuses and illiterates. Thankfully, for the most part, the gay community seems to be fairly well-educated and capable of putting correctly spelled words together in comprehensible sentences, except for folks like Dave and Tim, anyway. As far as Perez Hilton goes- ANY gay man who publicly carries on like that, especially on network TV, regardless of whether he should be allowed to or not, only makes more folks believe that he (she?) is a typical gay person and why should any more rights be granted to folks like that. He is the gay version of a redneck and probably should be hung until dead (no not THAT kind of hung). Honesty is wonderful, but sometimes it isn’t properly presented.

  14. RANDY scuk “suck” ym “my” ccok “cock” hower “whore” haha…
YOU REALLY DON’T HAVE A LIFE HUH?
FCUK “FUCK” FFO “OFF” BICHT “BITCH”!!!

  15. CathodeRayTube, you make the one point I’m surprised no one jumped on- you are ONE person, and you do NOT represent gays as a part of society. You and Tim and Dave all act as if the whole marriage question should be put to a vote, like it was in California- which is patently a BAD idea. If Civil Rights had been put to a vote back in the 60’s, we would likely still have laws saying that anyone but whites have to ride in the back of the bus, and use different rest rooms and drinking fountains, and can’t marry people of other races. Civil Rights need to be mandated by the national government, and enforced state by state. In this case, because of DOMA, the feds won’t get involved. That may change soon, because a close friend is involved in a class action suit filed by GLAD to repeal at least the part of that Act that prohibits same sex spouses from collecting their deceased spouse’s Social Security death benefit, among other things. My fiurst spouse, with whom I had been for 18 years, died 9 months after our marriage from cancer, and I was ineligible to receive either the death benefit or his remaining federal retirement because of this Act, signed by our sometime “friend” Clinton back in the late years of his 2nd term. His thinking was if he vetoed DOMA the next attempt would be a constitutional amendment which would be harder to get rid of. Those of you out there who know gay federal employees need to know that they can’t add spouses or partners to their health insurance, either, because of DOMA. Let’s fight stuff that takes rights away instead of being snarky at each other, eh?

  16. Tim, Tim, Tim- at least I had time to learn how to spell and communicate effectively- look how much attention it got from you. And actually I have a very good life- married to a wonderful man, living on Cape Cod, and rolling on the floor every time I see one of your ignorant posts

  17. oh yes, Tim- why do you feel the need to use curse words so much?? must be from your childhood, eh?
