Could the absurdly sexy Dan Humphrey be having his first same-sex experience in the upcoming season of Gossip Girl? While it isn’t necessarily confirmed, we have a hunch that Blake Lively will be jealous of a male actor her boyfriend’s smooching. Unfortunately, it probably won’t be Chace Crawford or Ed Westwick.
Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly had this to say of the show’s new season–“There will be a controversial hookup early on in season 3. And one of the participants of said controversial hookup will be Dan. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Oy, does he have to be so vague?
Evidence in support of a gay kiss: In the series of novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, Dan Humphrey has a brief homosexual relationship with a geeky old friend named Greg. I never actually read the books, but I seem to recall reading that the two men become entangled during a book club gone orgy. Greg eventually leaves Dan for, wait for it… Chuck Bass. He then concludes that he was merely exploring his sexuality, and tells his ex-girlfriend and best friend Vanessa that he loves her.
Evidence against a gay kiss: To begin, the television series has drastically ignored a majority of the book’s plotlines, character quirks and more. Also, is a gay kiss considered “controversial”? Tyra Banks has tainted the word “controversial” so much by using it to label completely inoffensive photo shoots. Given that she shares the same network, maybe a gay kiss is controversial. Or maybe Dan is going to hook up with his father, Rufus Humphrey.
Now that would definitely be controversial! You can’t even imagine the boner I’d have watching those two go at it together. Oh, don’t get your tighty whities in a bunch. It isn’t the incest that turns me on… it’s the actors not actually committing it. Keep your fingers crossed, and be prepared to say “OMFG”.
