Hang In There, Rue! We Need You…

Rue McClanahan, Golden Girls, Blanche Devereaux, stroke, bypass operation, TV, television, celebrity, alive, hang in there, Estelle Getty, Bea Arthur

This may make me the gayest person ever, but I really can't handle losing another member of the Golden Girls cast. No two celebrity deaths caused me more pain than those of Estelle Getty and Bea Arthur. And by pain, I mean an unmanageable bar tab. I drank up a storm as they headed to the great cheesecake in the sky.

With a heavy heart, I bring you news that Rue McClanahan has suffered a stroke while recovering from a bypass operation. Fortunately, she's alive, but she's been struggling with her speech and can't currently walk. Her husband Morrow Wilson remains hopeful. "She's going to require a lot more physical and speech therapy, he says. "But at least it's not like I stay awake at nights any more thinking that Rue is going to die."

She better not die! As you may have been able to guess, Blanche Devereaux was my favorite character on the show, and the thought of Rue passing away or even being in poor health makes me incredibly upset! But let's think happy thoughts… remember that time some guy named his genitals after the entire cast? Maybe I should rename my balls Dorothy and Sophia in honor of those we've lost…

  1. it doesn’t make you really gay, it just makes us think of you being older then the 20-ish you’ve been giving off 😛

  2. Blanche always seem 2 land on her feet ( LOl or her back ) and Rue will 2 !!! BTW Dewitt it dose not make U gay just human with some compassion

  3. There will never be a better acting ensemble than Dorothy, Blanche, Ma and of course Rose. I hope they have these reruns on the other side!!!
