Having previously requested to be freed from his contract, word on the street is that openly gay actor T.R. Knight will no longer be appearing on Grey's Anatomy.
Apparently the tension between him and the show's creator Shonda Rhimes has become too much to bear for both parties involved. Knight hasn't been too secretive about his desire to leave the show, as well as his frustrations with his character's lack of story-line and camera time.
No projects are planned for Knight, but we're currently working on a pitch for his OnTheHUNT scene. It'd obviously incorporate plenty of camera time and an intense plotline… about Arpad Miklos fucking him in a hot tub. That sounds about right. He may be a bit of a butterface, but in the words of a commenter on our Pretty Ricky post, "he can get it".
UPDATE: According to Shonda Rhimes' Twitter, Knight is not leaving the show.

Uhh, his character died in the last episode of the season, so this is news today because…??
They didn’t kill him. He’s just on the verge of death, like Izzy. Cut to credits. And why would Shonda or ABC or anyone involved with Grey’s want to reveal the true outcome of this cliffhanger? I hope he stays though. George is my favorite.
