Gay Penguins In Parks And Recreation’s Season Premiere

The first season of NBC's Parks and Recreation didn't too well in the ratings, so they've decided to ditch their tepid "pit" plot-line and take an entirely different approach. In the sophomore premiere tonight, Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler) will become a local gay rights hero by marrying two male penguins at the Pawnee zoo.

As you might guess, hijinks ensues when the town's anti-gay Conservatives catch on to the incident. They demand her resignation and leave graffiti saying, "It's Flipper and Eve, not Flipper and Steve." On the flip side, the local gay bar celebrates her actions, to the degree that they make Shepard Fairey-inspired "KNOPE" signs. Can't wait to see how this all turns out!

UPDATE: The episode was fantastic! You can watch it now in full after the JUMP. I loved Leslie's rendition of "Poker Face" and April's boyfriend who had a boyfriend.
