Farewell For Now, Stefon

Nnnnnnnoooooooo!!!! Master impressionist Bill Hader‘s last SNL as a cast member is the season finale this Saturday. If you’re like everyone else I know, you watch SNL after the fact via specific clips you heard were funny on Hulu. And there’s only a few cast members you search for at this point. Those would be Kate McKinnon and Bill Hader. AND NOW HE’S LEAVING! Bastard.

One of Hader’s most popular characters (he’s played him on the “Weekend Update” segment almost 20 times) is ridiculous club burnout guide Stefon. Stefon’s Ed Hardy tee, asymmetrical bob, and gaspy meth demeanor delighted all of us, mostly because it was fun to see how long Hader could last until he cracked up from the nonsensical club descriptions Stefon gives. Fun fact: Bill doesn’t know what he’s going to be saying until he starts reading the cue cards that night.

The lovable Stefon will surely pop up again in guest appearances or when Bill Hader comes back to host. But it will probably be awhile. Unless they give him a movie. Do they still automatically throw SNL dudes a movie if the character works still? Ugh. Night At The Roxbury. It’s Pat. Maybe Stefon should die. :/

Here’s a selection of Stefon vids to amuse and titillate you:
