Britney Spears is expected to debut no.1 on the Billboard chart next week. First day sales of her album, Circus, were in excess of 219k copies. This is the highest first day sales in 2008 previously held by Taylor Swift whose album, Fearless, sold 217k copies. Fearless went on to selling over 592k copies in its first week.
Britney's latest effort is expected to sell in excess of 450k copies. Initial estimates stated that Circus would sell around 350k copies. If first day sales are any indications then Circus could sell between 550k-600k copies in its first week.
Wow…way to make a comeback! This is great news for Britney considering her last album, Blackout, only sold 290k copies in its first week. Congrats Brit!

P.S. Britney's next single "Circus" is already no.1 on iTunes charts. The song has not been released to radio.
