Album Review: Human by Brandy

Brandy, Human

Brandy is hoping to make a huge comeback with her new album, Human slated to hit stores Dec. 9th This release is a heartfelt one for Brandy.

Human is my most personal album to date,” said Brandy. “I have grown so much since my last album. Being able to express myself & my journey through my music is a feeling I can’t describe. With this new chapter of my life it feels good to have Rodney (producer), a familiar face, by my side again. He brings out emotions in me like nobody else.”

Human's title track is a classic ballad with a flowing
guitar riff that sets up the lyrical hook. The ending where Brandy
follows the song into a key higher gives me chills. Next is "The Definition," an emotional song about her letting go of the pain she endured with a love gone wrong.

One of my favorite tunes on the album is "Piano Man," where she pays homage to her producer Rodney Jerkins by singing, “Play me a song about heartache, I promise I can sing every word…”  And she does just that.

Her current radio smash "Long Distance" is about being in a difficult relationship with a lover who is far away. "1st and Love" takes us on a roller-coaster journey about instant love and attraction.

Human is a great album from Brandy. Longtime fans will enjoy her reliably soulful harmonies and excellent vocal production. Human hits stores Dec. 9th!
