Should we believe the story that Anderson Cooper's been so moved by the disaster in Haiti that he's considering adopting a Haitian child with his boyfriend Ben Maisani? Probably not. Sure, the National Enquirer has been right about a few things in the past, but there's no way that a "longtime friend" of Cooper would shove him out of the closet without his consent. Perhaps it was a longtime frenemy?
On the flip side, Anderson Cooper did step out of journalist mode a few weeks ago to save a Haitian child from the middle of a violent looting. Who knows? Maybe that moment made him consider becoming a father. Or maybe the National Enquirer made up this bullshit. I'm leaning towards the latter possibility.
UPDATE: From Anderson's own mouth… "While the plight of children in Haiti has touched us all, and I continue to cover the situation there closely, stories about me adopting a baby are false. I am not adopting a child, Haitian or otherwise."
