Hey Washington, Haaaaaay! If all goes according to plan, Washington could be the next U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage. Last night, the Senate voted 28-21 to pass the bill, and word on the street is that the House of Representatives will approve it within the next week.
Start preparing your victory dances in advance, Washingtonians! Woot woot.

Probably like swimming in a shark tank, but I don’t support redefining marriage. Marriage is a key institution and a faltering one due to people not taking it seriously. I support gay committed relationships and civil unions. And supporting the Statist agenda because it’s gay friendly — no thanks.
Congrats to the brave legislators of the Washington State Legislature for voting in favor of equal rights for all and Governor Gregorie for her intention to sign the law!
Both my home state of New Jersey and my current state of Maryland are planning to hold votes in the coming months. New Jersey is going to be a difficult win because of Governor Christie’s promised veto, so the votes will be needed to override. However Maryland came very close last year and Governor O’Malley took lessons learned from New York on how to pass the legislation. So if all goes well by summer we’ll have two new states in the club, potentially three.

Marriage has undergone revision and redefinition since its inception, like language and everything else, it has to evolve in order to survive, or it will become obsolete. As you noted marriage is faltering. The causes for this are many. Does allowing same sex couples to marry alter the institution in a negative way? I have a hard time seeing how this is possible. What I think it does is seperate marriage from being synonymous with religious ceremony, thereby helping to make it more secular. I feel this is a good thing. The discussion around marriage and weddings is too much about the event, and not enough about the practical ramifications of two people merging their lives and assets together.

Legalized homosexuality, in Canada it was 1968, marriage – is a legal, financial, moral, important right because a gay union can be challenged in court – has been and lost. Kicking a man out of his home as the relatives of the deceased steal legally everything the two men had. Marriage equality means we have the right to get married if we so choose. Like they say -if you don’t agree with gay marriges – don’t marry a gay man. But plenty of women do – the Downlow is very chic.

Medicare for the entire 50 million that need health care, a huge dent in the HIV needs for education, homelessness, hunger issues, name a social issue that needs help. Now can I tell you how I really feel?
If and when California legalizes gay marriage, it will be easier for the rest of the country to
fall like dominoes. Have my fingers crossed the legal fight/decision will be overturned.
Of course as a single gay man, currently not in a relationship, I’m not sure if marriage is
in the plans for me, but I would like to have the right if things were to change.
