Orlando Jordan Is The Lady Gaga of Wrestling

Picture 51

A bisexual professional wrestler? Sure, this has probably happened already (see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), but we're pretty sure Orlando Jordan is the first to express his sexuality in such a public manner. The former WWE star staged his coming out party on Total Nonstop Action's Impact!, and his over-the-top entrance has been receiving mixed reviews.

Orlando was lowered from the ceiling in an outfit made of caution tape, reminiscent of a costume from Lady Gaga's "Telephone" video. A song played to notify the audience that he's awesome and bisexual, and then he writhed around on the floor. Finally, he sits down on a block next to a scantily clad man and woman. And it's kind of anticlimactic. Did anyone else expect him to make out with both of them?

On one hand, I'm impressed at this guy's honesty. The pro-wrestling world isn't exactly known for embracing man-on-man action. Of course, this leads to another issue–will Jordan's presence in the franchise only serve to magnify the homophobia of the fans? There's the possibility of him becoming a villain of sorts, someone for viewers to cheer against. And while we're still talking about this, do you even want this guy representing the LGBT community?

  1. I think that was more blatant gay than wrestling is used to. Though if they all had cunty entrances it may be worth watching… but only almost

  2. sometimes, this is how we get things Pioneered.
so, let’s just see how this plays out.
maybe this guy will be instrumental in getting some things to change, For The Better, for the l.g.b.t. community.

  3. Years ago there use to be a character name Golddust. His character was suppose to be VERY VERY GAY ACTING. In reality he was married with two kids. These guys get paid for there acting as much as there body and pain they take. Its just an attempt to get people to pay attention. Its an old joke that the Rastling world has been using for years. guess it worked again Free advertising haha

  4. popular villianism will just balance out so long as he donates some happiness to happiness organisations to spread happiness and…
…okay, screw it, i can’t say something with the word happiness in it that many times… it’s just too… happy :s

  5. I really like Orlando Jordan, as he wrestled for my university. I am glad to see an openly Bisexual wrestler being given a push.
However, his entrance Monday I have mixed feelings about. It was memorable, but it remains to be seen if they are going to keep his character as a good wrestler or make him into a stereotypical limp wristed joke. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
