King Cobra: James Franco’s Gay Porn Murder Movie Has A Distributor (And A Clip)

Gay porn industry aficionados and true crime junkies may recall the sordid story of escorts Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes. They were convicted of the 2007 murder of Cobra Video founder Bryan Kocis. You know, the guy who “discovered” Sean Lockhart (aka the infamous “Brent Corrigan“), and then engaged in a vicious legal battle with him when Lockhart tried to strike out on his own. Cuadra and Kerekes, interested in picking up Lockhart for their own porn efforts, felt that killing Kocis would speed that process up. And there you have it.

Arty actor (and chief purveyor of the irritating “is he or isn’t he?” celebrity schtick) James Franco has produced King Cobra, director Justin Kelly’s adaption of the story. Franco also portrays Kerekes in the film. Twinky young Disney star Garrett Clayton plays Sean Lockhart, and the resemblance is startling. (Check out the vid and snaps below.)

According to Queerty, the flick reportedly garnered rave reviews at the Tribeca Film Festival, and IFC just acquired the U.S. distribution rights. So, very soon, you’ll be able to amble on over to an arthouse cinema and watch Franco (accompanied by Christian Slater, Alicia Silverstone (?), and Molly Ringwald (double ?) bring one of the bigger scandals of the gay porn industry to life. I never knew that I wanted to see Molly Ringwald in a movie about murder in the gay porn industry until today.

Check out some of Garrett Clayton’s Instagram snaps of him as “Brent Corrigan”, one of Franco and co-star Keegan Allen (as Cuadra), and a clip below.
