Why is James Franco the coolest straight man in the world? Aside from playing gay poet and activist Allen Ginsberg in Howl, the actor will be appearing on the cover of “transversal style” magazine Candy. Yes, that lovely lady in the picture above is none other than James Franco.
The shoot was directed by photographer Terry Richardson, and it will appear in a thousand-copy limited edition of the magazine. The issue will also feature contributions by Bruce Weber, Jeremy Yost, Collier Schorr and many more! I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely intrigued.

James has to be one of my absolute favorites & cudos for him supporting our community the way that he does by stepping outside of the box & the norm & doing something different…no other straight guy would ever have the balls to pull that off!!!
His whole career arc is just one of the best series of performance art that’s probably ever been done. it’s like joaquin phoenix with substance.
Now if only he’d pose nude next. More power to him.

Wow. Completely unexpected, and until he smiled I didnt recognize him at all.
I’m impressed with his willingness to put himself out there. It shows how serious he is about his acting and his desire to branch out in all areas.
