Woodkid: “I Love You”

I would like to sit on Yoann Lemoine‘s face.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, I should probably mention that Woodkid is Lemoine’s stage name. His new video for “I Love You” just came out earlier this week, and it’s quite good if you’re into moody, cinematic musical offerings. Vocally, Lemoine reminds me of someone who should be really obvious… The only names that are coming to mind are Jens Lekman and Morrissey, and I know both of those aren’t quite accurate. Who am I thinking of, readers who know my brain better than I do?

While you’re racking your brain for the answer, I’d like to inform you that Lemoine also directed the music videos for Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream”, Taylor Swift‘s “Back To December” and Lana Del Rey‘s “Born To Die”. Listening to this, you might be surprised that he has a connection to three of the world’s biggest pop stars.

  1. I love this guy… his music is just AMAZING, he’s cute and so talented… Looking forward to have his album next March.

  2. I thought this guy was another over-rated Euro dweeb who can’t sing. Guess I was wrong. I still think he is, but who cares.
