Who Deserves A Second Chance On The Weekly Top Ten?

Everyone deserves a second chance, right? Well, except for your douchebag ex-boyfriend. That bastard can rot in hell. But when it comes to our Weekly Top Ten charts, there are a few jams that deserve another chance at claiming the ultimate “Song of Summer” title.

This week’s unconventional Wild Card round includes songs previously featured on Manhunt Daily. Take a walk down memory lane as La Roux, Scissor Sisters, Usher and Natasha Bedingfield compete for a spot on this Saturday’s countdown. There’s only one day to vote for your fave, so hurry up before it’s too late!

– Dewitt

To listen to the songs and cast your vote, follow the JUMP:

La Roux – Bulletproof: Yikes! It took the US audience over a year to warm up to this song, and now it can be heard blasting from car speakers everywhere you go. Does the song’s revival suggest it’s the epitome of a song that deserves a second chance? Or is it just old news by now?

Scissor Sisters – Fire With Fire: The band pulled off an interesting take on current countdown diva Kylie Minogue, but it may not have been enough to warm you up to their latest single. This one dropped off the charts rather quickly, which surprised us given the staying power of album track “Invisible Light”. Maybe they just need to put Sir Ian McKellen on every song…

Usher f/ will.i.am – OMG: Sure, this song has ridiculous lyrics like, “Honey got some boobies like wow, oh wow”. Yet despite all of its faults, we still have an uncontrollable urge to dance whenever it’s playing. At least it’s less annoying than “California Gurls”, right?

Natasha Bedingfield – Touch: This song should have blown up, like, yesterday. Something tells me there’s some shady industry politics going on, because it seems like Natasha’s label hasn’t been promoting this at all. Or maybe I’m just living under a rock. Either way, this song should be a bigger hit!

  1. You should also check out Doll & the Kicks – Roll up the Red Carpet. They also did a cover on Ke$ha’s Tik Tok.

  2. I was torn between La Roux and Natasha so I went with Ms. Bedingfield. I am happy for the success of La Roux in the US, though.

  3. i’m going with usher.

and for next week’s wildcard how about putting “somebody to love” remix up featuring usher. the video just came out this week and it’s posted on my site…
