Weekly Top Ten: Don’t Call My Name

Kylie Minogue has done it again! For the second week in a row, she’s taken the number one spot on Manhunt Daily‘s Weekly Top Ten. This is especially impressive–considering that a pair of Lady Gaga singles are anxiously nipping at her heels–but can she keep up the momentum now that the video for “Alejandro” has made its debut?

She better watch her back, because Gaga has a history of knocking other songs off the charts. Her latest victims come in the form of Christina Aguilera, Goldfrapp, Alexis Jordan and Natasha Bedingfield. None of them were able to secure enough votes to stay on the countdown, and they’re off to the scrap heap along with Wild Card rejects Eminem, Pixie Lott and We Are The Fallen.

So how does this all work? If you’re a Weekly Top Ten virgin, hop in the tub while I explain the rules to you. Each week you’ll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three that you’d like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we’ll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we save and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week’s charts.

Wishing there was a “none of the above” option? Well, quit your bitching and tell us what you want to see on the charts by leaving a suggestion in the comments. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if we think it’ll have a chance… you might see it here next time around!

UPDATE: Oops! This week’s poll only allowed you to vote for one song, and it seems a little too late in the game to switch it to a “vote for three” option. This will be fixed for next weekend’s countdown, but until then… choose wisely!

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Kylie Minogue – All The Lovers (LW – 1, W4): It’s getting hot in here. Perhaps you should take off all your clothes and then writhe around on the floor. Why? Because Kylie Minogue told you to. Do you really need a reason beyond that?
  2. Lady Gaga – Alejandro (LW – 7, W2): We’re still not sure if the debut of the “Alejandro” music video will help or hurt Gaga’s chances on the countdown, but we’re leaning towards the latter option. She’s pretty much impossible, and we’ll be incredibly surprised if this isn’t number one next week.
  3. Lady Gaga f/ Beyonce – Telephone (LW – 2, W14): By now, it should be clear that Gaga is her own greatest competition. Expect “Telephone” to truck on a few more weeks, but there’s a good chance that the hype of “Alejandro” will knock it out of the ball park.
  4. Kelly Rowland – Commander (LW – 3, W7): If you haven’t seen the music video for this one, be sure to click through and check it out. The words “fierce as fuck” don’t even come close to explaining it. It’s basically the gayest thing that will happen to you all weekend.
  5. Katy Perry f/ Snoop Dogg – California Gurls (LW – 5, W5): Now that Katy’s been given the gay boy lip-synch treatment, does this mean that she’ll be able to move beyond fifth place? Or will her harsh words against “Alejandro” hurt her chances of moving on?
  6. Robyn – Dancing On My Own (LW – 8, W2): When forced to choose between saving Christina Aguilera and this underrated Swedish popstress, the choice was pretty fucking obvious. This jam may not get voted as the Song of the Summer, but it’ll always live on in our hearts.
  7. Christina Aguilera f/ Nicki Minaj – Woohoo (DEBUT): But it’s not all bad news for Ms. Aguilera! To celebrate the release of her new album and apologize for our entirely tepid review, we’re throwing her second single “Woohoo” onto the charts. It’s about her vagina or something like that.
  8. Rihanna – Te Amo (DEBUT): Though I wouldn’t necessarily choose to become a lesbian, I’d change my mind very quickly about that if it involved making out with Rihanna. The pop star goes for a little girl-on-girl action in her latest video, and we’re loving every second of it.
  9. Carrie Underwood – Undo It (DEBUT): Carrie’s one of few country stars who’ve ever had any success on the Weekly Top Ten, so perhaps her latest single “Undo It” can crack into the top five. Stranger things have happened! Like Clay Aiken ever claiming that he was straight.
  10. Enrique Iglesias f/ Pitbull – I Like It (WILD CARD): We really hope that Enrique doesn’t make it by on looks alone, because it’s pretty intolerable that the cast of Jersey Shore is in this music video. Plus, this isn’t exactly his best work…

  1. I think Woohoo and California Girlz are awesome summer songs. In fact I honestly think California Girlz is the song of the summer, and I give her more points for taking a stab at Gaga.

  2. I voted for Robyn, Rihanna and Kylie.
Suggestion for the wild card: 4th of July (Fireworks) by Kelis. It’s her new single.

  3. Voted kelly rowland. the video is just as great as the song. especially like the dancing/voguing.

like te amo as well, hope to see it on the countdown next week.

  4. I was allowed to vote only for one song so I chose Te Amo by Rihanna.

That Kelis track is hot, but there’s also a new single by British rapper Example that’s great. It’s called Kickstarts”.

  5. could only vote for 1
    voted for alejandro
but i also wanted to vote for carrie underwood and rihanna!

  6. It really doesn’t matter what songs are suggested because only one type of music ends up on the chart.

  7. Listen to Lady Gagas song “Monster.” I grown very fond of this song. The other night I dreamed about making a music video of it!!

  8. Katy has the Song of the Summer.

    Wild Card Suggestions:

    Miranda Cosgrove – Kissing U
Aaron Fresh – Spending All My Time

  9. ALL THE LOVERS , BEAUTIFUL , WELL CRAFTED SONG , CANT WAIT TO HEAR MORE FROM APHRODITE !! HATE ALEJANDRO , HORRIBLE SONG , HORRIBLE VIDEO … GAGA NEEDS TO GO AWAY FOR AT LEAST A YEAR , SHE HAS BEEN OVERPLAYED AND IS REALLY STARTING TO ANNOY THE CRAP OUT OF ME ….UGGHHH! GIVE IT TO KYLIE !!

  10. I just wanted to complain and say I can only vote for one as well 🙂 and like a wise soul I chose Woohoo cause it’s amazing. end of story.

  11. I think you seriously need to throw out this week’s results and start the poll over to make it fair to each song.

  12. Watch out! The voting poll doesn’t work right. Anyway, I’m voting Kylie as first, Robyn as second and Katy as third. Gaga is overrated. Sorry, guys. Nice day.
