Wal-Mart CEO Supported Arkansas Gay Adoption Ban

Walmart Facebook

Remember how KnowThyNeighbor.org exposed the names of thousands of voters who signed a petition to ban gay Arkansas families from adopting children? Well, apparently one of those signatures belonged to Wal-Mart's CEO Mike Duke.

The store already doesn't have a good reputation within the LGBT community, and this surely isn't helping. It may be hard to pass up the low prices and free ice cream day, but be strong so we can "Save Equality. Live Better."

  1. Wal-Mart’s bigger than all of us, and they do have some (not all) political influence….but i’m on a budget, and they provide a need.

  2. I work for Walmart and have to say I have never experienced ANY retribution for being gay from any manager. Overall, my benefits are great but it would be nice if they offered same sex benefits.

  3. ok so i am a manager at walmart. worked for them for 6 years now. walmart was one of the first companies nationaly to include sexual orientation in its anti-discrimination policy. and in many communities walmart supports many glbt events. as a company walmart cannot tell mr. duke how to spend his money. as far as same sex benefits they do offer them in states where you can get married or have a civil union….. not the best but it is a start.
