The Savvy Trick-or-Treater

Halloween

You’ve
only got one evening to score all that candy so when it comes to costume, think mobility. Sandals or heels will slow you down. Go with sneaks. Also, avoid vision-impairing masks and getups
with capes because they’ll trip you up.

Considering a trip to the rich neighborhood because they’d
be more generous? Think again! They didn’t get rich giving out boxes of Devil
Dogs. Stick to the residential areas
with lots of kids.

Timing is everything. Between 4 and 6 PM houses have their biggest stock of candy, candy,
candy! Between 6 and 7 tends to be the
busiest so it might be a good idea to grab a bite to eat and unload your loot
at home. Then it’s time to hit the
streets again and find jackpot houses with surplus sweets.

Don’t go with a big group of friends. They will slow you down and when people have
a small herd of trick-or-treaters on their doorstep, they tend to be stingier
with the goods.
