Saying ‘Hush Hush’ to PCD On This Week’s MANHUNT Daily Song of Summer Charts

Song of Summer July 4 Edition
In this week's installment of MANHUNT Daily's quest for the 2009 Song of Summer, we mourn the loss of The Ting Tings' "That's Not My Name" and The Pussycat Dolls' "Hush Hush". Oh, who are we kidding? We're glad to see both songs get ousted from the charts! We were, however, surprised by the incredibly poor performance of Drake's "Best I Ever Had". Guess the titty-full new video debuted too late to sway all the bisexual and straight guys out there?
If you're just joining us now, we should probably fill you in on the rules. Every week we will be featuring ten songs that will be eligible for the ultimate prize of absolutely nothing… er, we mean the title of MANHUNT Daily's 2009 Song of Summer. Based on your votes, the top seven will move on to the next week, joined by three new tunes making their debut.
Feel like your favorite artist got shafted? Leave a comment recommending them for next week. We'll take a listen to all of your suggestions and decide whether it makes us want to go naked Slip 'n Sliding. Ouch! On second thought, we'll just listen to the songs…

To see this week's charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Lady Gaga – LoveGame (LW – 1): The Gaga stays strong with the top spot, but what would happen if "Paparazzi" coincidentally creeps into the charts next week? Her fans could potentially have quite a dilemma on their hands. Not that we're implying anything.
  2. David Guetta f/ Kelly Rowland – When Love Takes Over (LW – 3): We still have our fingers crossed that Florence Ballard reincarnated will take the number one spot, and the fact that she has a second track appearing on David Guetta's upcoming album gets us very excited in the pants.
  3. Michael Jackson – Thriller (LW – 2): From beyond the grave, the King of Pop broke several Billboard records this week. Will the "Man in the Mirror" break any records on our charts? That's for you to determine.
  4. Mariah Carey – Obsessed (LW – 4): Who does Nick Cannon think he's fooling by saying this song was inspired by Mean Girls and has nothing to do with Eminem? When we saw Mariah dressed in drag with that gray hoodie, we knew the truth. Mimi holds strong to the number four spot, with potential to move up after her video debuts.
  5. 3OH!3 – Don't Trust Me (LW – 9): Wow, you guys really enjoy this obnoxious duo. Despite our desperate attempts to knock them lower on the charts, they've bounced right back to where they started. I guess their bulges really had a huge influence on you.
  6. La Roux – Bulletproof (LW – 10): Last week's underdog climbs up four spots with this incredible synth-pop jam. Can this duo hold their spot without last week's references to jizzing all over your face? Let's hope so!
  7. Cobra Starship f/ Leighton Meester – Good Girls Go Bad (DEBUT): Since all of you loved this song when we posted it, Cobra Starship and Blair Waldorf make the highest debut of the week. We're still not going to agree that they're "one of the best bands ever".
  8. Britney Spears – Radar (LW – 5): Brit slips three spots this week, barely making the cut. Given how negative the reception for the music video's been, we're skeptical about whether this song will be able to stay in the running.
  9. The Gossip – Heavy Cross (DEBUT): Porn star Steve Cruz recommended this in our interview with him, and we're hoping that this song's inclusion will increase our chances of having sex with him. Just sayin'. Oh yeah, and Beth Ditto can really sing.
  10. MGMT – Kids (DEBUT): Ask and ye shall receive. This song is older than your profile photos, but the spanking new official video convinced us to include it. Also, it helps that Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser are total babes.

  1. There are three songs that I want to recommend and I hope one of them makes it to the top 10:
    1. Pixie Lott: Mama Do (Linus Love Remix)
    2. Pitbull” Hotel Room Service (samples Push the feeling on by Nightcrawlers)
    3. Shakira: She Wolf/Loba (has that disco beat that is hunting radio and dancefloors this year)
