Random Question: Are You A “Gaymer”?

My fingers are very talented when it comes to pushing the right buttons, but I’ve never been very good with a video game controller. So I’ve got to ask–how many gamers do we have in the house? Is there a particular console you swear by? Or are you a switch-hitter?

Obviously, I’m bringing this up with ulterior motives. In case you didn’t notice, Manhunt Chat has a “Gaymer’s Guild” room. Just click the chat tab, scroll down to the Lounges section and then you can show off your joystick to all your fellow gamers! Or you can just talk about Starcraft II. Whatever floats your boat…

  1. I am, totally. In a sense. I’ve been a Nintendo whore since I got my first NES waaay back in ’85 (Super Mario Bros. all the way). Although lately, since my boyfriend has an XBox 360, I’ve gotten into that, too. Loves me some Fable II (you can be bi, gay or straight in that game – and have lots of teh butt secks).

    Also, it’s awesome getting/giving ‘game head’

  4. I’m a huge gamer. My dorm room last semsterwas a video game paradise.. me and my bud had pretty much every system in there as old as Atari up to PS3 and Xbox 360.

  5. Just got back into gaming. Used to be Nintendo (started with a gameboy), but have now moved on to PS.

  6. Played classic Nintendo games all through the 90’s during my childhood
    In early 2000’s got my first PC and been playing computer games since then. Not really into consoles anymore.
    Strategy games like Age of Empires II were my favourites.
    Got hooked up on Diablo two years ago, but then got infected with the World of Warcraft last year and haven’t played anything else ever since.

  7. Being that I grew up in the gamer generation, I can’t live without my 360… the ps3 is alright.

  9. Huge gamer. Been a Nintendo fanboy since the NES, but Microsoft and Sony are brilliant, too. Eagerly awaiting Diablo III. Also a (big) bit of TCG geek, but that’s not quite the same.

    Also, I will sleep with you right now if you can name the first 151 Pokemon in order. >:D

  10. Xbox360 here. My fav games are cod mw2, mass efect2 and the mother of them all: Battlefield Bad Company 2.

  11. Huge gaymer too. TCG, console, World of Warcraft, etc. I still have my N64 with my fav game, LoZ: OoT (if you know it, you are epic!).

    Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise, Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Pidgeot, Rattata, Raticate are just the first 20. Wink

    Always been a big gamer, and my boyfriend and I game out pretty constantly, and I’ve always thought of it as a way better thing to do as a couple than just watch TV together. And besides, nerds are hot.

    As a side note, I encourage all self-proclaimed gaymers to check out http://www.gaygamer.com. Blog site for gaming news and tech stuff from a “male-oriented” pespective.

  16. I AM, I started gaming on a SNES, then Nintendo 64 (LoZ = OoT) now im into PS, have my PSP and the most loved game for me is God of War!!!

  17. I am in the largest gay guild in World of Warcraft called Taint (on Proudmoore server). Yes there are gay people who play WoW. We have over 4800 unique members.

    Tho I’ll switch it up every once in a while and Pikachu and I will kick some ass in Super Smash Bros.

  19. I am a gamer. I have been playing MMOs since 1998 with the start of EQ and I’ve moved on to other computer games since then.

  20. Yessir! PS3 and XBox360…Give me those 1st person sci-fi, fantasy shooter games: Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Halo and Bioshock 1 & 2.

    Oh, and give me a week with someone who rocks a body and gear like Kratos and it’s on like Saigon…believe that!

  21. knowing the first 151 pokemon is only as impressive as memorizing presidents in order… :s

    besides, if the guy asks for 151… you don’t pay him up with 20 and expect to get much in return 🙂

    monster hunter tri, borderlands and… that’s about it “right now” unless you count me downloading cavestory to play that on occasions >.>

    played wow for awhile… will potentially go back to it depending on how guild wars 2 works out… i killed the lich king then i just got bored and played more monster hunter tri :s

    kirby is my best character of supersmash bros brawl… even though i was terrible with him for hte first 2 ssb games :s

    PS: dewitt, dreamcast? what’s wrong with you? those things don’t exist, you shouldn’t post pics of them 🙂

  25. It is an old picture since the hotties are playing a dreamcast but I have 2 dreamcasts and a spindle of games, one of the best systems ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So they still exist. Obviously I’m a gaymer, Super Street Fighter 4 is my game, Rose mainer =D

  27. I am happy to identify as a Gaymer 🙂 I’ve been playing games since I was about 5, moved through multiple consoles and had a blast the entire way through. It’s a really good outlet and one of the easiest ways to escape from reality abit.

    And as for the stereotype that gamers can’t are socially inept, sexually depraved losers, I can assuredly say that it is not true 😉

  28. I wouldn’t say that I’m a gaymer but I do play games occasionally. I mainly use my 360 to stream music and movies, lol. Love Fallout and Borderlands tho.

  32. Hell yeah man! I love videogames. Wii games are great but I’m more of a computer nerd myself. I loved old school Red Alert, and right now I play Guild Wars as well as Astonia 3.5 New world!

  34. i visit my friend’s relatively often though, he has all 3, though usually 360 is the only options of things to play… (ps3 has so few options, deal with it, sure it’s littered with fps junk, but there’s more playable options then ps3 usually have >.> )

    i play rock band 3 (expert drums 🙂 ) most of the time there.

    blazblue (i usually main arakune, but yeah, trying out mu and makato and some others) and some borderlands are current fillers.

    PS: if you’re at an age where you’re still into videogames… (i’m 21 for example) it’s very easy for you to have sex… i did between the time of my two postings here… 🙂

  35. Finally! I thought I was one of the few “gaymers”! My 360 is my baby as well as my Wii! Kick ass in Smash Bros Brawl, cod mw2, bioshock series, dead space ah and pokemon. Def grew up in the 90s on snes and sega! Awesome to see gaymers out there 🙂

  36. Oh-hoh yes. I LOVE me some video games. I’m an avid Sony-Nintendo fan myself…though recently the 360’s had a few games come out that have intrigued me, so I’m working on getting that eventually. *nodnod*

  37. Wouldn’t say that I’m a huge gaymer but I do really enjoy playing it when I do. Playstation is my favorite console and “God of War” (I and II) are my favorite games. Wii is fun but doesn’t have a huge variety of games that take advantage of the technology in a really fun way but it is by far the coolest system.

    I’ve currently got a PS3 and I’m loving it. (My favourite game that I own so far is infamous – the protagonist, Cole, is SUPER HOT)

  39. Yes, I’m definitely a “gaymer”. I’ve been playing since the NES days back when I was a kid. Been playing pretty regularly ever since. I even have a Zelda tattoo (yeah, I’m that guy) Now I just need to find another cute “gaymer” for me to date, then we’d have a lot in common 🙂

  40. Yep, total computer geek here. Just finished Starcraft 2’s campaign and waiting for Mafia 2 (way better than any of the GTAs). Got a custom built computer (3.4 GHz Quad-Core, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SATA HD, and a Radeon HD 5750) with duel-monitors (one is HD).

    Also have a PS3, but mainly use it for BluRay and Netflix 😛

  41. I’m a Gaymer. I have an X-Box 360 even though it is a pain in the ass sometimes. I’ve been into Fallout 3 since it came out, but lately I’ve been hooked on Mass Effect 1 & 2.

    I mean you gotta love the shooters and the side scrollers.

    and it is a personal turn on, a really big one, when guys drop names like house of the dead and sega genesis titles.

  44. I’m a huge Mass Effect fan. The default Commander Shepard is HOT! lol! Then again I’ve always had a weakness for a man with dark hair and ice blue eyes. lol!
