New York Radio Host Murdered After Craigslist Ad Requested “Violent Sex”

John Katehis

A 16-year-old has confessed to the murder of gay New York radio host George Weber after the two agreed to meet for "violent sex." You may have read that Weber's body was discovered in his apartment on Monday with over 50 stab wounds in what was undoubtedly a horrible scene.

The 16-year-old, identified as John Katehis, responded to a Craigslist ad put up by Weber asking for rough sex and told Weber he'd be willing to smother him for $60. At some point during the meeting, the teen claims Weber pulled a knife. He says he managed to get the knife from Weber and that is when the murder occurred, though Katehis claims to have been "blank(ed) out" for much of it.

The sordid details still aren't clear, but one thing is, George Weber will be missed by many. This also reminds us that internet safety is very important and you can click here to learn how to play safe!

UPDATE: Gawker found his Myspace page…he's definitely into knives and Satan.

  1. Very horrific story. And it’s amazing that minors are no longer subject to anonymity thanks to today’s technology. Will have to wait and see if he gets tried as an adult and ends up in an adult prison. So tragic for the poor man.
