The Gus Van Sant biopic of Harvey Milk opens today! Milk opens on
limited release, but if you live in a big city you should have no
problem finding it. Wide release is set for December 5.
Early reviews have been overwhelmingly
positive. Roger Ebert writes, "Sean Penn never tries to show Harvey
Milk as a hero, and never needs to. He shows
him as an ordinary man, kind, funny, flawed, shrewd, idealistic,
yearning for a better world. He shows what such an ordinary man can
achieve."
The story of Harvey Milk is a great one, and this movie will hopefully reflect that. I'll be watching it this weekend, and I'll let you know what I think when I do! Has anyone seen it already?
