Michael DiMartino Brings ASL To Gay Pop Faves

Michael DiMartino, shirtless, Britney, Circus, deaf, hard of hearing, american sign language, music video, ASL

When I came across Michael DiMartino's American Sign Language interpretation of Lady Gaga's "LoveGame" on Swish Embassy, a range of emotions flowed through my body. Though my feelings for the pants-free pop star's dance jams err on the side of distaste or utter ambivalence, I couldn't help but respect this man's goal of bringing mainstream music to individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing.

While I contemplated whether Lady Gaga would be "enjoyable" without her punchy electro beats, I stumbled upon a video of DiMartino performing "Circus" by Britney Spears. This one involved the sexy sign language interpreter performing his moves without a shirt. In absolutely no time, I forgot about those emotions that were previously flowing through my body because blood started flowing to only one part of my body. I'm not talking about my brain, folks.

  1. That was actually pretty good. He’s definitely a hottie and I’m betting gay. Definitely a different take and it’s not repetitive or boring… I liked it!

  2. Check out Sia Furler and her video for “Soon We’ll be Found”. She uses ASL, and blacklight for the video. Besides she has a phenominal voice.
