MANHUNT Cares: Boulder County AIDS Project

BCAP

The health organization we’re highlighting this is week is the Boulder County AIDS Project. They provide great services to those who are HIV-positive in the Boulder, Colorado area.

In their own words, “The
Mission of Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) is twofold: to provide
support, advocacy and education to those in our community who are
infected with or affected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
and to serve as an outreach and information center to prevent further
transmission of HIV and the resulting Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
(AIDS).”

Some of the services they provide include access to
medical care, financial assistance, food bank, volunteer support,
support groups, and pro bono professional support services.

The project began in 1985 with two part-time staffers and has grown to over a dozen staffers and hundreds of volunteers who help hundreds of HIV-positive individuals and their families.
