Madonna And Janet Together At VMA’s?

MTV Video Music Awards 2009

MTV's Video Music Awards have gotten shittier and shittier the last few years, but some of the rumors I've heard about this year's awards make me definitely want to tune in. The most exciting is that Madonna may be introducing Janet Jackson as the opening act.

Janet is said to be performing an EPIC tribute to her late brother, Michael Jackson. And in more Jackson related news, a trailer for the movie This Is It, which shows Jackson's final rehearsals, will premiere at the awards.

Some might say it's a bit too much Jackson, but for the man who is largely responsible for MTV's growth in the early 80's, I think it's more than appropriate.

Other performers will include Beyonce, Lady Gaga (both lead the pack with 9 nominations), Taylor Swift and Green Day. While me may not see Eminem eating balls again, I'm sure some kind of crazy antics will take place.

The VMA's are live Sunday, September 13 at 9PM ET. I just realized this conflicts with the season finale of True Blood! What to do!? Which will you be watching?

  1. Yeah if you have HBO on demand you should be fine. That’s probably the best option because the VMAS almost always run over.

  2. Both the VMAs and that episode of True Blood will re-air later at different times. I’d watch the VMAs the first time around tho incase some craziness occurs before it can be censored.

  3. She’s just possibly going to introduce her. They arent performing together. Jeez..cmon. They are both doing out of love and respect for Micheal. good lord..

  4. Given that the VMS’s have gone to hell in a hand basket the past few years. Even the tease of Madonna and Janet is not enough to keep me from watching the final episode of True Blood.

  5. Well if Janet is doing a tribute to her bro, I’m deff gonna watch! michael was the shit! And janet is always hot on stage!
