What do American Idol contestants do after the show is over? They perform at gay prides obviously! Performing at this year's LA Pride are none other than Fantasia Barrino, Blake Lewis and Syesha Mercado. Hmmm… I guess they read Lady Gaga's recent interview with MTV where she credited the gay community for her current success:
"The turning point for me was the gay community," she said. "I've got so many gay fans and they're so loyal to me and they really lifted me up. They'll always stand by me and I'll always stand by them. It's not an easy thing to create a fanbase. … Being invited to play [the San Francisco Pride rally], that was a real turning point for me as an artist."
Madonna, Beyonce and Britney are all gay icons and have an incredibly huge fan base. Fantasia, Blake and Syesha are all looking to boost their careers with a little help from the gays.
