Let’s Get Kinky: Medical Fetish

Ever get hard at the thought of going to the doctor’s office? Many of us find this either routine or uncomfortable. There are guys out there who get a boner thinking of a dude in scrubs feeling him up all over. This is one I’d never heard of! The Surgical Resident is a reader who writes a blog about medical fetish. What’s that? I’ll let him explain:

Medical fetishism in the gay community is a fairly wide collection of kinks that all revolve around the medical scene. Some people are naturally turned on by the clothing of the profession (lab coat, scrubs, surgical gown, masks, examination and surgical gloves); for others, it’s the actual procedures themselves that turn them on and they enjoy inserting catheters or performing urethral sounding as part of their sex play.

Eeeeoowwwcchh! All I keep thinking is that it’s a very small hole, and I never want to get in a situation where my cock needs one. But some guys would think I’m a big wimp. The snap of latex gloves, getting their crotch shaved, and Dr. Jellyfingers fingering your hole for medical reasons are what gets them up and throbbing.

Why do you think you’re into it?

As with any kink, it’s not something you decide to develop; rather, certain experiences in your youth can influence your sexual tendencies and you end up inexplicably attracted to a certain object or situation.

What would you say to guys looking to play like this?

For those of you who have a partner with a medical fetish and who want to explore the scene with him, I recommend discussing exactly what it is about the medical scene that gives him such a boner. Is it the tightness and smell of the latex gloves? Is it the power dynamic between the doctor (dominant) and the patient (submissive)? Are they only turned on by the gear or do they want actual procedures done on them? Are they attracted to nice doctors who help them reach the best orgasm of their lives or do they want to be cruelly tortured by a sadistic surgeon?

Any last thoughts?

Communication is key and do remember to thoroughly research any medical procedure you intent on bringing into the bedroom if you’re not a medical professional.

  1. that procedure looks and sounds incredibly painful! i think a medical fetish in the US would be incredibly frustrating and expensive. it’s pretty well documented that american doctors don’t even touch their patients any more. of my last 10 trips to a doctor i think i was touched once or twice. how about a post on bondage/sadism directed at lawyers? that would excite me.

  2. He should be there for an HIV test too.  Probably not the right place to post this but I see MHD has not brought up the topic of the recent approval of the “at home” HIV tests, with results in 20 mins.  The big controversy is that it does not come with counseling, like the mail- in version or clinic testing.

Listening to NPR today, I was shocked to learn that half of the 50,000 cases per year in the US of infected cases come from people who dont know their status passing along the HIV virus to someone.

    Get tested!!  Know your status!!

  3. I’ve been an RN for 23 years now and cannot figure out the medical fetish; that stuff hurts and can lead to serious infections and permanent tissue damage. No thanks!

  4. yea, i’m in medical school, and i keep getting people asking about medical play, and i have no idea what they expect me to do….

  5. Not really into it in real time…but love to watch medical themed porn.  LAID UP by Titan has one of the hottest dr/patient scenes ever!

  6. In my private practice as  Pro Dom, in the past year I’ve gotten lots of requests for “Doctor’s office visits” and I’ve learned that I really enjoy the experience. For some guys it’s about getting past their Doctor’s office visit fears by eroticising the experience. A bad childhood experience left them with adult fears sort of like dentist visits. For others it’s about engaging an experience that they’ve always wanted from their doctor but could never really reasonably expect. It’s really fantasy play with big boy toys. Exploring our fantasies in a safe environment can be incredibly healing and we can actually learn a great deal about ourselves through that experience. I have the best job ever and…The Doctor is IN!

  7. seeing as when we go to the doctor its because we are ill, or for some sort of test which is liable to involve stress and worry even if it comes back clear, there is NO FUCKING WAY the doctors is a horny experience…

“your cancer results are back and im afraid the prognosis is not good…”
how horny is that??? fucking weirdos

  8. Thank you, Michael, for showing us that not everybody on Manhunt is kink-phobic. Just because someone’s kink doesn’t personally turn you on doesn’t mean it affects “fucking weirdos”. And, no, having a medical fetish does not mean racking up hospital bills to get a glimpse of a guy wearing a surgical mask in a hallway, nor does it mean eroticizing the news that you have cancer. A lot of kinks are born out of perceived power imbalances: the cop and the robber; the master and the slave; the doctor and the patient. As Dan Savage frequently puts it, BDSM (and a lot of kinks have ties to BDSM) is “cops and robbers for grown-ups with your pants off”. That kind of attitude of “eew! gross! no fucking way!” is what keeps kinksters in the closet for fear that their partner will react badly at the revelation of what is essentially a harmless part of their sexual preferences. As Dan Savage is also fond of saying, you dump the guy with the harmless foot fetish, you end up marrying the guy who comes out 20 years later as a necrophiliac. Which one would you rather have? A kink is a bonus, not a handicap. As long as the partners communicate and that they are safe, so what if one of them is wearing scrubs and masturbating his partner with gloves? Where’s the harm in that?

  9. Sometimes  I like to watch the doctor, patient  type porn but when it comes 2 real life  the extent of my medical fantasy  is doctor get out of those scrubs and get on this DICK  STAT  !  Anything more than that sorry not my area of  EXPERTISED !

  10. Thank you for that. I agree 100% with what you say. Our judgements keep us away from so much fun.   Just say no to judgments and yes to fun.  🙂
