Everyone Is Gay.

Have you ever been curious about which ol’ school Hollywood actors preferred the company of other men? Well, you’re in luck! An ONTD reader was kind enough to read Scotty BowersFull Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars so you don’t have to! A decent portion of the book’s items concern the sexuality of yesterday’s stars. Some of the items are obvious. Some of them are not.

I’ve gone ahead and copied and pasted a few of the more intriguing bits from the reader’s list, but you can check out much more here. The part about Jack Ryan popping out of coffins whilst masturbating was… Um, interesting?

Click through for some retro gay ass gossip:

Spencer Tracy was a good husband and a devoted father even though he preferred the company of men in the bedroom. He is described as being a “generous, good-hearted man.” He was also a big drinker.

Actor Walter Pidgeon was gay even though he was married.

Cary Grant and Randolph Scott were both married but were long-time lovers and companions.

Vincent Price sometimes had a very happy (and sexless) marriage to his wife Coral Browne but both were completely gay.

The Duke and Duchess of Windsor sometimes had sex and did really love each other but both preferred to sleep with members of the same sex (which is the real scandal behind the Duke giving up his rights to the throne).

British actor Peter Bull was also gay and had an obsession with teddy bears.

Charles Laughton was gay and even though his wife Elsa Lanchester knew this, she stuck by his side the whole time because she was in love with him. One of the people he had an affair with was Tyrone Power. Charles didn’t like to bathe and often wouldn’t. The author also claims he once had a guy put his own feces on Charles’s sandwich and then slept with the guy.

Elsa herself liked to sleep with young gay men and try to “turn them.”

Tyrone Power was bisexual but preferred men. He was also into “golden showers” and having his partners defecate on him.

Rock Hudson was super gay and his marriage to Phyllis Gates was a sham. He was also an alcoholic. Rock did not get along with James Dean.

James Dean was bisexual but preferred men. The author describes him as “a very unpleasant young man” and said he was prissy, moody, and unpredictable.

Montgomery Clift was also moody and temperamental and quite mean. And also gay.

Anthony Perkins was “intensive, sensitive, and complex” and had sex with men but always “wanted someone different.”

Actor Clifton Webb was also gay and lived with his mother his entire life.

Actor Raymond Burr was gay.

  1. Some of these are really intriguing, and I slightly hope they’re true!

Also, I wish that title was a fact. That would make my (nonexistent) dating life so much simpler.

  2. The content of Full Service was very interesting but trying to read this book hurt my eyes. The author writes like he was writing for 5 year olds.

  3. Spencer Tracy is the only one on the list that I didn’t know about. No wonder Katherine Hepburn was his partner.

  4. I read the book ..loved it.. Couldn’t put it down.. Can’t Waite for someone to write about the modern day Hollywood .. The trovolta ‘s and the cruise’s etca….

  5. Even if it’s NOT true, Spencer Tracy is one I never thought of, but strangely makes a lot of sense.

  6. I want to be the first openly gay actor to win an Academy Award. Knowing that these great men before me were also gay (if only in private) gives me hope and inspiration.

  7. seeing as theyre all dead and there is no conclusive evidence this is all just hypothetical, conjecture or even bollocks

apparently there were some dead cavemen who might have been gay…. fucking stupid post

  8. Even as a young teen I suspected Spencer Tracy was gay. I mean, jeez!  Even though he was married, he still had Katharine Hepburn and she was beautiful, so why did he drink himself to death? Guilty conscience for being gay. . .

  9. Hmmmmm. No wonder my gaydar clicked on whenever I saw a picture of James Dean. Phowarrrrrr.

  10. Sounds like this author is just trying to sell more books. Only a few of these like Raymond Burr, Monty Cliff and Rock Hudson are for sure.  The others have always be just speculation.  Of course the author outs them only after they are all dead and can confirm the story.
