Uncharted territory, swarthy characters, flannel, manly men swinging giant tools and rolling around in the mud. No, I’m not talking about Manhunt‘s tent at Phoenix Pride. I’m talking about a little piece of America’s history known as the Gold Rush.
Klondike, The Discovery Channel‘s mini-series about striking it rich or dying trying, was good y’all. I’m not exactly what you’d call a trail blazer. I’m not proud of that fact, but it is what it is. In fact, I’m sure I wouldn’t have lasted more than two days under those conditions. I am, however, a gold star “male gazer”. The mini-series really gave me the Mother Lode in the form of Richard Madden. This Scottish ginge can prospect my tunnel any day (yuk, yuk).
I have never seen Richard before and instantly fell in love with him. He’s a man. A strong man. A man who isn’t afraid to share a bromance with his bestie while trying to make a name for himself in the pop-up town of Dawson City. The curly-haired, hairy-chested, rustic boy wonder plays good guy Bill Haskell who, along with his friend—blah, blah, blah—it’s good, watch it.
Naturally, I mined the shit out of the internet to find out everything I could about my new husband. Apparently, this tasty little nugget is kind of a big deal on the Throne Games program (or whatever the hell that shizz is) and starred (and stripped!) in Sirens. Looks like I’ll be upgrading my NetFlix account and grabbing some necessities on my way home tonight.
