James Franco As Gay Poet Allen Ginsberg

Chronic masturbator and actor James Franco portrays Beat Generation poet and gay activist Allen Ginsberg in the new flick Howl.  Named for his epic poem, Ginsberg’s creation is considered to be a classic in American poetry and led to a whole bunch of people wearing black, chain smoking in coffee houses, and throwing off the chains of sexual repression in the late 1950s. Franco, despite his unfortunate heterosexuality, is no stranger to gay roles and we salute him for it. Check out the following clip, in which James plays Ginsberg debuting “Howl” in all his horn-rimmed, gay liberation movement pioneer glory.
