Jackie Beat and Friends Spoof High-Fructose Corn Syrup Ads

Have you seen those ads that promote high-fructose corn syrup as being perfectly healthy? It’s made from corn, doesn’t have artificial ingredients and, like sugar, it’s fine in moderation, you know? Unfortunately it’s terrible for you. But I’d love to be on… I mean, I love that top!

Jackie Beat, Nadya Ginsgburg and Selene Luna have joined forces to call out The Corn Refiners Association on their deceitful ploy to make children fat. If you’re easily offended by jokes about female genital mutilation or the Ku Klux Klan, you might want to sit this one out.

Oh, what am I talking about? Even if you are offended by either, you should watch this–it’s so wrong that it’s right.

  1. Actually, it really IS fine in moderation,( HFCS I mean, not lead, FGM or the KKK). The problem is that it is so prevalent that unless you spend most of your time actively avoiding it, you will get way more than a “moderate” dose.
Also, the vid is not particularly funny, but makes a good point.
