Hugh Jackman Is Happy Disney+ Didn’t Censor His Butt in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”

Gay, high school romantic comedies like Love, Victor, or the idea of a series focusing on the grown-up, adult life of Lizzie McGuire may have been too “intense” and “mature” for Disney+, but apparently, naked mutant butts are perfectly fine! Yes, we’re talking about iconic Aussie actor Hugh Jackman and that infamous peach scene from the 2014 X-Men franchise movie Days of Future Past.

Ever since it was made available to stream on Disney’s popular streaming platform, fans have noticed that the scene from the film where Jackman’s character Wolverine wakes very confused and very naked in the ’70s was left in, despite Disney+ being marketed as a “family-friendly” platform. We’re not complaining here! And neither is Hugh himself!

“Days of Future Past becomes the first movie to air on Disney+ uncensored,” Jackman wrote in a celebratory Instagram post over the weekend that captured the iconic moment from the film. (Though he had to censor himself with a smiley face emoji because of Instagram’s own notorious nudity and censorship rules.) “That was my future but let’s be honest…it’s more like my past.”

While it’s still very, very, very sad there’s a clear double standard in what Disney+ deems “inappropriate” for their platform, we always enjoy seeing Hugh and his impressive physique on display, so there’s that.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is now streaming on Disney+!
