This is the type of project that makes me miss New York nightlife. While I was never much of a club kid myself, there was always something magical about having the most talented drag queens and hottest go-go boys available any night of the week. Looking back, I didn’t take advantage of this as much as I should have, and while I’m quite happy with the way my life worked out, a small part of me wishes I had been more reckless and adventurous in my early twenties.
Wait, why the hell am I getting so personal? Forget everything I just said.
ULTRANOCTURNE is a collaboration between DJ Jodie Harsh and photographer Tim Bret Day, compiled to promote the Room Service club brand. Along with individual portraits of the performers and various personalities, they’ve also assembled a huge collage featuring Austin Wilde, Sharon Needles, Kennedy Carter, Amanda Lepore, Francois Sagat, Jake Bass and a handful of other familiar faces. It almost makes me wish I didn’t hate crowds, loud music or the overall concept of joy.
