Remember George Rekers and his European getaway with a young rent-boy? Believe it or not, this story is only getting started! You may already already know that Rekers was a founding member of the Family Research Council and other anti-gay organizations, but there’s one thing people haven’t been talking about — his time as an author.
We dug up an old book that Rekers authored, Shaping Your Child’s Sexual Identity. The title is especially ironic, to say the least, considering Reker’s rent-boy was at least 40 years younger than him! The creepy cover also doesn’t help the issue…
In further testament to his hypocrisy, Rekers also wrote another gem, Growing Up Straight: What Families should Know about Homosexuality. Yikes!
The escort involved is also speaking out, giving an interview to CNN about erotic massages… sound familiar?

I agree with the sentiments above about the rentboy … the whole idea of renting a boy is for discretion. I’m not a leader, a religious leader, clergy or anyone that this would be an issue that it came out, except for my privacy. It gives caution to whom you are hooking up with that you may be outed more publicly than you are or care to be.
The Ted Haggards, Geoerge Rekers, Jimmy Swaggarts of this world will be found out eventually, we don’t need to compromise the integrity of discretion for an agenda. I would enjoy renting a boy for a cruise, for example, but want to be assured that only those I want to know about it find out.
yuck. i know people make their own bed but this exposure is very sad to me. it is realizing that the self loathing vocal anti gay closeted homosexual is a lot larger of the pie when it comes to “enemies” of the gay movement than i really understood. there is nothing satisfying in that, just disheartening.

I f you really want to know what was originally written in the bible, you should read the direct translation from Aramic. There is no such thing that two people of the same sex, may not be together. It stated: A married man is not allowed to sleep with another man” Thus adultry. Through the years the monks and chuch glergies, translated the bible to fit their own believes. They misused the bible to force people, and to scare people, to live they way the church wanted them to.

Reckers is NOT ‘Gay”. To be Gay, is to be acknowledging and accepting of your homosexuality. You live “OUT” and accepting of who you are as GAY and not deny, hide and certainly NOT defame your fellow Brothers and Sisters. This man is a latent homosexual, not Gay. We as a community MUST identify and define this aspect of what it means to be “Gay”.
