Doctor Queerlove: Best Sex Music

Dr. Queerlove

Dr. Queerlove,

I am 20 years old and have just started having sex. This might be a dumb question, but what’s some good music that I can play when I have a guy over for a hook-up? The last few times I’ve had the television on in the background, but a commercial with the Sham-Wow guy can be a real boner killer. And the news isn’t really a turn on. I’ve tried having nothing on at all, but I don’t like it. I have a few song ideas, but would love to have a few more. Help me out with some good suggestions!

Thanks,

Gay Sex Is Awesome

Gay Sexer, this is a great question because music can play a big part in mood. And mood matters. Why? The right ambiance titillates the senses. Aromas, lighting and sounds can all work to enhance the feel (and taste) of sex. And it’s not all roses and Barry White. Sometimes scents such as leather, saw dust, citrus and even sweat could be big turn-ons. Make out with a guy while wearing the right cologne and you could get further than just second base.

Though general aphrodisiacs have been proven to not exist, most everyone has something that relaxes or arouses them. Experiment to find the right combinations with the right partner and you could be having a lot of fun.

To specifically answer your question about music, the doctor has compiled some suggestions to pump up your sexual rendezvous. Some people don’t like music during sex. Dewitt (who sings a bad ass rendition of T-Pain’s “Yo Stomach”) thinks it makes sex feel like porn. Umm, what’s wrong with sex being like porn? Furthermore, it’s not like Nine Inch Nails is porn muzak. The right music helps you pace yourself, and different beats spice up your body’s rate and rhythm. Think about when you run or jog. A certain power song can really get you going.

In order to always be prepared, the doctor recommends setting up at least three playlists on your music player—fucking, sexing, and love making—each no less than 2.5 hours long. Lastly, though I tried to compile a wide array of genres, this is from my perspective of good sex music. Do some more research to find stuff that fits your musical style (I’m sure some readers will offer their suggestions in the comment section).

Love Making Music
Sometimes you’re gonna fuck him softly. You’re gonna screw him gently. And when you’re going for romantic, Sade is a better fit than Rammstein.

Fucking
Sometimes you are gonna fuck him roughly. You’re gonna pound ass and bitch slap all sorts of body parts. You’re gonna pant, moan and scream “Don’t! Ever! Stop! Fucking! Me!” And when you do, you should opt out of Luther Vandross.

Sex
For anything and everything that fits somewhere between the sweet and the nasty.

Hope this gives you a good start. Now, go hit up iTunes and MANHUNT so you can give some of these a try!

  1. Actually, the best i found was from Itunes…Ultra Trance collections. Also that remix of SIA’s “Breathe”.
all of these are great as background music but not overtaking the umm tasks at hand so to speak.

  2. A good song during sex
    Britney Spears “Breathe on Me”
or really any Britney song (except her ballads)

  3. So, ixnay on the “Dancing Queen” and “I Touch Myself?”
Personally, I think any music you (both) like is fine, as long as it isn’t distracting. I tend to keep the volume low; audible enough so there aren’t any awkward silences, but not so loud you’re thinking about the song more than the guy.

  4. Theres some great music to have sex to featured in the soundtracks to showtime’s series Queer as Folk. Obvi not all of it went to cds so you’ll have to google.

  5. Another really good sex song is “Would You Mind” by Janet Jackson. It really is fun when one acts out the lyrics. 😉
