In an attempt to avoid posting Willow Smith‘s surprisingly good debut single “Whip My Hair”, we’ve decided to opt for one of your musical suggestions. On last week’s edition of the Weekly Top Ten, several of you recommended the song “Alors on danse” by Belgian-Rwandan artist Stromae.
The song has been a huge hit in Europe, and it even made a brief crossover to the states thanks to a remix featuring Kanye West. Does it have what it takes to compete against Kylie Minogue and Katy Perry on our weekly charts? Probably not. But does it have a great beat that you can dance to? Hell fucking yes!

Thanks for showcasing this song, Dewitt. It’s good to have a different kind of song and even if it lasts a week in the Top 10, at least you are giving it good exposure throught the website. The song is becoming more and more popular in the UK, so a crossover to the American market wouldn’t be that far fetched. They are even playing in some radio stations in Montreal and some parts of Quebec.
I…liked both songs, surprisingly. Willow’s got way too much swag for a 9 year old, and French music in general is neat to me.
