Aural Only: Sheryl Crow

What’s an easy way to slip in as a Song of Summer contender? Well, throwing the word “summer” into the title of your song probably can’t hurt. It worked for Kid Rock back in 2008 with “All Summer Long”, and this particular strategy might help Sheryl Crow with her latest single “Summer Day”.

Don’t come into this expecting a sequel to “Soak Up The Sun”. This track’s a little more laid back, more equipped for sipping lemonade on your porch than anything else. We received a few requests to add it to this weekend’s countdown, so what do you think–does it deserve to be there?

  1. Very homogenized, formulaic song tailored to the adult/contemporary and easy-listening market. Still, it’s a nice arrangement and production, and I sort of don’t hate it. You’ll probably hear it in the dentist waiting room.
