If anyone says that Rihanna's biting off of Lady Gaga in her video for "Hard", I will seriously chop their balls off. That notion is as absurd as Timbaland's claims that Gaga stole his style. Ms. "Bad Romance" isn't the first female pop singer to rock insane fashion. If you're going to compare Rihanna's style in this video to anybody, it better be along the lines of Grace Jones.
"Hard" is so over-the-top that it's like the Avatar of music videos, full of explosions, machine guns, phallic pink tanks and duct tape titties. Okay, so technically Rihanna's latest isn't anything like James Cameron's blue alien epic, but it's definitely her best video since "Umbrella". I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this song catches on, because my girl needs another hit!

She makes me think of Grace Jones, had she been a bright starlet in modern times. Still, she has yet to achieve the class and allure of Grace. Only time will tell.
