Aural Only: Miley Cyrus

Is it wrong that I love everything about Miley Cyrus‘ new video for “Can’t Be Tamed”? As the Disney starlet wraps up the final season of Hannah Montana, a “coming of age” anthem of this variety was bound to happen. However, I didn’t expect it to be anything worth paying attention to.

While you can laugh at me for deeming this as my new guilty pleasure, the joke will be on you when it’s stuck in your head for the next couple of days. Sing it with me now–“I can’t be tamed! I can’t be tamed! I can’t be blamed! I can’t, can’t, I can’t, can’t be tamed!” Such lyrical genius, eh?

  1. Fucking amazing video!!! I just love anything Miley does..well of course im 16 but anyway im glad Miley is heading in a totally different direction then what i expected! Miley is forever here to stay! Love her..

  2. dewitt u promised there will be some big celebrity coming out on the 5th of may for people magazine?>
    where is it?

  3. The visuals of the video aren’t bad at all, very stylish in fact. Those people whining about it being scandalous are nothing but filthy hypocrites.
HOWEVER, who lied that poor girl she could sing? Her voice is absolutely awful and the digital filter doesn’t help.

  4. The concept was awesome, those wings were cool. Edgy without being to risque to her already fan base. vocally she ins’t any worse than alot of others.

  5. wow… i actually like this song. And i don’t like Miley Cyrus. But seeing this shows her potential to becoming big even after her Disney days, which seems like she’s trying to get away from as soon as she can. But i agree, i don’t like her voice. She isn’t that great of a singer, but nowadays it doesn’t matter if you can sing or not. As long as you have autotune and can make music that sounds good, nobody cares about the singer’s voice. ahem… T-Pain

  6. lolwut
Dewitt, are you kidding me right now? You frown upon Alejandro and praise this? False.
It’s like a Britney song in a Lady Gaga video. Everything about this is wannabe. And I will stick by that until my last dying breath.

  7. Hmmm…. did no one else notice the 16 y/o who commented in the beginning? Am I the only one that wonders about that?!
